Building Peace and Community in Kalamazoo

Peace House is an intentional community in the Eastside Neighborhood of Kalamazoo dedicated to nurturing the next generation of peacemakers. In the summer and through the school year we offer activities that let kids stretch their bodies and minds, experiment with nonviolence and learn fun and useful skills.

Peace House Discussion: Kestrel Peace on Nonviolent Resistance on Jeju Island
Oct 21 @ 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm

A US-backed naval base is being built on Jeju Island, off South Korea. There has been massive nonviolent resistance to this construction by the local people there over the last several years, including daily religious services and blockades at the gates. Kestrel Peace traveled to Jeju last fall. She will speak of the ongoing situation there as well as the context for the construction of the base.
