Building Peace and Community in Kalamazoo

Peace House is an intentional community in the Eastside Neighborhood of Kalamazoo dedicated to nurturing the next generation of peacemakers. In the summer and through the school year we offer activities that let kids stretch their bodies and minds, experiment with nonviolence and learn fun and useful skills.

Homework Lab for Teens at Peace House (Gray House)
May 18 @ 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Quiet time to work independently on schoolwork for students in middle school and high school. Computers and internet available. Snacks sometimes available.

Peace House Teen Program (Gray House)
May 18 @ 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

We do some homework and we share some food, but we spend a lot of time in conversation. We talk about ourselves and our relationship to the work and the issues that affect us. We talk about our future and we talk about the world- and find our power to take leadership in both. We find ways to express ourselves positively and creatively. We keep it honest and respectful- and we find some time for fun. Every week brings something a little different, but it’s always interesting, to say the least.
